What is Military-Veterans Advocacy?
Military-Veterans Advocacy® is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting service members, veterans and their families when systems fail them.
What does MVA do?
MVA advances veterans’ rights through federal litigation, legislative advocacy, education and outreach. Our work seeks to correct systemic problems and create change that can benefit thousands of veterans.

What issues does MVA address?
MVA works on issues involving veterans’ benefits, toxic exposure, unjust military discharges, wrongful convictions, religious liberty and other systemic problems affecting service members and veterans.
Does MVA only help veterans in Louisiana?
No. Although MVA is headquartered in Louisiana, it is a national organization whose litigation, legislative and educational work affects veterans across the United States.
Help With VA Claims
Does MVA file VA disability claims or represent individual veterans?
MVA does not provide individual legal representation or routinely prepare or file VA disability claims. Our primary focus is correcting widespread legal and policy problems affecting the veterans community.
Can MVA help if my VA claim was denied?
MVA provides general educational information and resources, but veterans who need assistance with an individual claim or appeal should contact a VA-accredited representative.
Finding Trusted Help
How can I find a VA-accredited representative?
Veterans can search the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs accreditation database to verify an attorney, claims agent or Veterans Service Organization representative before accepting assistance.
What are “claim sharks”?
“Claim sharks” are unaccredited individuals or businesses that may charge veterans improper or excessive fees for assistance with VA claims. Always verify accreditation before sharing personal information or signing an agreement.
Toxic Exposure Resources
Does MVA provide information about toxic-exposure claims?
Yes. MVA offers educational resources concerning Blue Water Navy service, Navy deck logs, Agent Orange exposure in Okinawa, Gulf War illness and other military toxic exposures.
Does MVA guarantee that a claim will be approved?
No. Information, documentation or advocacy assistance does not guarantee VA benefits or a particular claim outcome.

Are donations tax-deductible?
Military-Veterans Advocacy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. MVA is also an approved Combined Federal Campaign charity, CFC #59905.
