We work proactively with lawmakers to prevent these issues before they happen, and when necessary, take action in federal courts to correct harmful or unclear policies.

When VA policies harm veterans or delay justice, MVA brings high-impact cases to federal court to force clarity, accountability, and reform.
We work alongside lawmakers to ensure legislation reflects the realities of military service—particularly for those affected by toxic exposure, combat conditions, or systemic failures.
Through training, outreach, and Continuing Legal Education (CLE), MVA equips veterans, advocates, and legal professionals with the tools to navigate complex systems.
Founded in 2012, Military-Veterans Advocacy began as an effort to address gaps in VA policy affecting entire groups of veterans.
Early work focused on issue-specific advocacy, including efforts supporting Blue Water Navy veterans. As legislative victories expanded—most notably with the Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Act and the PACT Act—MVA evolved into a unified national organization focused on systemic change.
Military-Veterans Advocacy is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors with experience in veterans’ law, military service, public policy, and nonprofit leadership.
